DOUGLAS D ALDERSON 1919 – 1944 ELIZABETH JONES DIED 1934 AGED 73 GEORGE JONES DIED 1939 AGED 77 Douglas Alderson was the second son of Thomas Alderson and Minnie Jones who had married on 21 December 1914. He had an elder brother George Thomas Erie Alderson who was born in 1915. Private Thomas Alderson was discharged on 6 June 1916, because he was “no longer fit” for the army. Douglas would have never known his father as he died in April 1919 shortly after he was born. In 1923 his mother Minnie remarried to Thomas Davies. It`s not know what Douglas did for a living but he joined the RWF as an infantryman. His Army Roll of Honour states that his Theatre of War was United Kingdom, so it seems he never went overseas. He died on 21 February 1944 at the emergency hospital in Wrexham and was buried with his grandparents, George and Elizabeth Jones who were born in Wrexham. In 1901 and 1911 his mother Minnie was with her parents and siblings at 33 Meifod Place. George was a colliery labourer. Sarah17, Maria 13, Jane 12, Annie 9, Jessie 8, Minnie 6, Gladys 4 and Percy 1. It`s unclear what Elizabeth’s maiden name was as there are too many children with the same names born at the same time. Researched by Annette Edwards. May 2019. Grave ref: Wrexham Cemetery D-09844
